Cre­ated as A music player for the 21st century, NOW has been de­signed to counter the ephemeral na­ture of mu­sic stream­ing with ded­i­cated hard­ware and op­u­lent graph­ics.
It al­lows users to col­lect (and later ex­change) high-res­o­lu­tion meta con­tent to en­rich their mu­sic ex­pe­ri­ence, treat­ing their stereo less than an om­nipo­tent smart de­vice and more as a piece of fur­ni­ture to be con­trolled with their hands.
This piece of soft­ware is built with node, electron, and gundb to be run on a rasp­berry pi with a ded­i­cated mon­i­tor and can be con­trolled via http.
